Parramatta Leagues Club (PLC) is one of Australia’s most iconic Clubs in the Western Sydney region, strengthen by its sister club Vikings Sports Club (Dundas) and newly amalgamated Dural Country Club.  We are passionate about bringing together our community, supporting local causes and offering welcoming experiences for our members and community by delivering exceptional service.

 

This is an exciting time to join our Club as we embark on the execution of our strategic plan which includes a refresh of our PLC Clubhouse, digital transformation across the Group, expansion of our facilities as well as exploring potential opportunities within our precinct.

 

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented General Manager Marketing with extensive analytical, marketing, digital and communications experience to lead and manage the marketing function of the iconic Parramatta Leagues Club Group (the Group).

 

Reporting to the CEO and working alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), this is an opportunity for a passionate marketing professional with influential leadership and management skills, to deliver on key strategic goals. As the owner of the “Member Experience” Strategic Pillar, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital, social and traditional channels to implement strategic marketing, advertising and communication campaigns. The successful candidate must have a great mentoring approach and will be responsible for leading the Marketing, Communications, and Community teams and contributing to the wider business strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Brand Awareness

Develop the Group’s Brand Strategy to reflect and communicate our purpose, values, and mission.

  • Digital Marketing and Data Analysis

Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns across a broad range of digital channels. Analyse market trends, positioning of competitors, customer behaviour and experiences to drive strategy. Develop analytical tools and processes that drive efficiency in media channels and platforms. Development of marketing personas to better understand customers across all business segments.

  • Community

Oversee the Groups Community ClubGRANTS program identifying opportunities to maximise Social Impact through collaboration with key strategic partners. Build the Group’s Community Connect Paid Volunteer program and collaborate with PNRL to leverage group opportunities.

  • Business Growth

Plan and execute successful, broad, and targeted campaigns to drive growth. Partner with the IT department for the purpose of optimising CRM systems, marketing technologies, meta-data management, and website improvements. Work with the SLT and key stakeholders to ensure optimisation and effectiveness of marketing campaigns to align with the Groups business objectives.

  • Team Leadership

Build a highly inclusive and collaborative culture ensuring team members thrive and

organisation outcomes are met.

 

To be considered for the role you will have the experience to deliver a marketing strategy that results in consistent growth and will be able to create and execute a plan to develop our brand, increase customer satisfaction and retention.

 

About you:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cross-functional marketing role, and a minimum of 6 years in a management role
  • Bachelor’s degree in media, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience as a business partner to the Chief Executive Officer
  • Proven experience and success across all disciplines of marketing (product, branding, strategy, social media, communications, business development, analytics).
  • Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media marketing and content marketing
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • Strong understanding of inbound and outbound marketing for enterprise.
  • Demonstrable experience of positioning a company in a competitive market and winning market share.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills,
  • Strong copywriting skills and attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability to develop good working relationship and liaise with a wide network of stakeholders
  • Inspiring, collaborative, and influential leadership and management skills and experience in mentoring and developing team members
  • Ability to work shift work, weekends and public holidays if needed.

 

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience with ClubGrants and Community programs
  • Previous club or hospitality experience
  • Master’s degree in media, marketing, or communications
